After a long ascent in snow, ice and rock (level 3) you can experience the unique panorama from the top of the second highest mountain of the Alps. The starting point is Monte Rosa hut at 2795m. The climb requires excellent physical condition, experience in climbing with crampons and prior acclimatisation to the altitude. The ascent from Monte Rosa hut takes approx. 6-7h, the descent approx. 4h. (normal route)

Crampons, climbing harness, ice axe (can be rented in a sports shop in Zermatt), good climbing boots suitable for use with crampons, gaiters, 1 ski or hiking pole (optional), warm weather-proof clothes (jacket, sweater, long johns), head torch, warm gloves and mittens, a warm hat, a hat for protection from the sun, sunglasses, high factor sun screen, a thermos flask (approx. 1 lt. capacity - tea is available in the huts), packed lunch (refreshments: high-energy food such as chocolate, dried fruit, glucose, etc.), a pocket knife, rucksack.
