Switzerland's highest mountain offers us a long ascent in snow and ice with a short passage of rock climbing. The starting point for this climb is the Dom hut at 2940m. Requirements are very good physical condition, experience in climbing with crampons and prior acclimatisation to altitude. Technically easy north slope or, if you prefer the challenge, the exposed Festiridge can be tackled.
