The Alphubel belongs to the giant mountains of the Mischabel group and can be climbed from the Täsch hut at 2701m. The route (technically an easy climb "Ice Nose") is in snow and ice and requires good physical condition with experience using crampons. The ascent from Täsch hut takes approx. 5h, the descent approx. 3h.

Crampons, climbing harness, ice axe (can be rented in a sports shop in Zermatt), good climbing boots suitable for use with crampons, gaiters, 1 ski or hiking pole (optional), warm weather-proof clothes (jacket, sweater, long johns), head torch, warm gloves and mittens, a warm hat, a hat for protection from the sun, sunglasses, high factor sun screen, a thermos flask (approx. 1 lt. capacity - tea is available in the huts), packed lunch (refreshments: high-energy food such as chocolate, dried fruit, glucose, etc.), a pocket knife, rucksack.
