The normal ascent of the Breithorn is the easiest four-thousand-metre peak to summit in the Zermatt area. It offers you the fantastic experience to climb up to 4000 metres for the first time. In the morning you take the cable car up to Klein Matterhorn (3880m) and then begin the ascent. The ascent and descent in snow and ice takes approx. 3-4 hours and is suitable for experiencend hikers.

Good climbing boots suitable for use with crampons, climbing harness, crampons, 1 ski or hiking pole, gaiters, warm weather-proof clothes (sweater, jacket, long johns), warm gloves and mittens, a warm hat, a hat for protection from the sun, sunglasses, high factor sun screen, a thermos flask (for warm drinks, approx. 1 lt. capacity), packed lunch (refreshments: high-energy food such as chocolate, dried fruit, glucose, etc.), a pocket knife, rucksack.
